What's New in Visuals

Make the video from your treatment without picking a plan first.

Before, a free account that loved its treatment had 1 way forward: a monthly or yearly plan. Now you can buy just that video. Pick a $5 Draft to check the idea, or a $10 HD video with no watermark. Treatment videos also sound better, with your real song playing over the finished cut. This week also brings videos that play in Safari, editor previews that match the export, and a cleaner header on the visual canvas.

The short version:

  • Free accounts can buy 1 treatment video, from $5

  • Your song's chorus plays over treatment videos, with no made-up singing

  • New GPT Image 2 prices, and images from your photos cost much less

  • Videos play, download and copy links in Safari

  • Editor previews stay in sync with the export

  • A new header on the visual canvas that fits any screen

  • The Visuals Agent runs exactly the cards you name

Make a video from your treatment

Buy just this video

On the free plan, Make this video now offers 3 choices:

  • Draft, $5. 480p, with watermark. Good for checking the idea.

  • HD, $10. 720p, no watermark. This is the one we recommend.

  • Creator, $19 a month. This video in HD, plus monthly credits.

You pay once and stay on the free plan. An HD video has no watermark. If you bought a Draft and like it, Upgrade this draft to HD makes the same video again in HD for $5. Checkout also shows more ways to pay, like Apple Pay and Google Pay, where they are available.

If the video fails, you don't pay again. You can make it again from the same screen.

One note: stills that show a real person's face can still stop the video from being made. Stills of a character or a scene work best.

Better treatment videos for everyone

Treatment videos now play your song's real chorus over the finished cut, with no made-up singing, talking or lip-syncing in music videos, lyric videos and Spotify Canvas loops.

  • Each direction reads like a director's pitch, with a story, what you hear and an optional voiceover.

  • The idea box is optional. Tap You pick or Based on my song instead of typing.

  • Make a treatment opens What should we make? instead of your last treatment.

  • Social content is now 1 vertical video instead of 4 image posts.

  • Stills try again quietly for a few minutes after a hiccup, instead of showing an error.

  • The music video example loops a shot from our film Afterglow. Watch full film plays the whole 2 minute film.

Start over for free

On the free plan, starting a new treatment before you pick a direction no longer uses one of your 3 free treatments. It replaces the one you didn't use. The directions screen has an Edit idea button to rewrite your idea, with a small "free" tag when it won't use a treatment. Revise is now called Make changes.

New GPT Image 2 prices

Before, a GPT Image 2 image made from a reference photo cost a flat 20 credits. Now it costs the normal price for its quality, plus 1 credit for each photo. A Low image from 1 photo is 2 credits.

The normal prices for GPT Image 2 changed too. Medium went from 3 to 4 credits for a square image, and from 2 to 3 for a wide or tall one. High and Auto went from 10 and 8 to 16 and 13. Low stays at 1. High and Auto are for paid plans. You always see the price before you run.

This applies everywhere you use GPT Image 2: treatments, Image cards on the visual canvas, and AI apps like ChatGPT and Claude.

Videos play in Safari

Before, some videos made by the Visuals Agent played sound over a black picture in Safari on a Mac. Now Safari shows Finishing your video… and starts the video on its own when it's ready. If it still can't play, you see a Download video button.

  • Downloading 1 video saves the video file, not a ZIP. Downloading several still saves a ZIP, and it is never empty.

  • Copy link buttons work in Safari, for share links, public links and invites.

Editor previews match the export

Before, in the video editor, Cuts and the Compose card, the sound in the preview could drift away from the picture. Word cuts jumped and lyrics looked late, even though the export was fine. Now the preview sound follows the picture, so what you hear is what you export. Exports are unchanged.

One note: when you unmute during playback, there is a short pause before the sound comes in. Bluetooth headphones can still add their own small delay.

A new header on the visual canvas

The header and tools on the visual canvas now match the Visuals Agent's floating style, in light and dark mode.

  • It fits the space. When room is short, controls move into More.

  • 1 button for the chat. Hide chat and Show chat open and close the Visuals Agent.

  • Leaving is in the left menu, as Close project or Close flow.

  • Long titles show in full when you hover them.

  • Invite and access windows open on top of Share, not under it.

  • On phones, the toolbar now has the Library button and the connections switch.

The Visuals Agent does what you ask

  • It runs exactly the card you name. Requests like "run only that one card, exactly once" used to be refused. Now the Visuals Agent runs that card and leaves the rest alone.

  • "Keep the flow unchanged" means unchanged. The Agent makes no edits to cards, names or layout.

  • "Yes" starts the run. After the Agent asks if it can spend the credits, "yes", "go ahead" or "confirm" runs exactly the cards it named. If the cards changed, it asks again with a fresh price.

  • Asking for just a prompt writes just the prompt. It no longer starts an image or video because of something you asked earlier.

  • It can look at what you imported. The Agent can now see images and videos you added to the visual canvas, and it reads your edited text, not the original.

  • New private flows are saved before their first run, so the finished flow isn't empty.

Long clips are trimmed to fit

Before, a video or audio clip longer than a model accepts could make the run fail, sometimes with a confusing error code. Now every trim is measured and cut again if it runs a little long. When the Visuals Agent connects a long clip to a card, it sets the trim window right away: the part you asked for, or the part of the song that fits. If you say "don't trim", it asks you first.

If a clip is still too long, you get 1 plain sentence that says how long it can be. Your original file is never changed.

Also fixed

  • Your edits survive a dropped connection. Visuals reconnects quietly and keeps your drafts open. Retry only reconnects. It never starts a paid run on its own.

  • Project downloads include every finished file, including MP4 and ProRes exports and the originals. My Library filtered to a Project or Flow no longer times out.

  • Run progress shows the right count. It no longer shows "0 of 3 cards done" after a reload, or the last run's count.

  • Custom Scene lyric videos open when they finish. Before, the screen could say it failed even though the video was done.

  • AI apps keep each piece of work in 1 project. When ChatGPT or Claude makes images and videos in Visuals, a batch now lands in 1 named project instead of hundreds, and the Visuals view inside ChatGPT lists your projects with their saved results and past runs.

  • Renders from My Library export when you add them to a Composition.

  • No more false "A saved draft is available" notice when nothing changed.

  • Exports recover if your sign-in refreshes while they get ready. If you changed settings, you are asked to click Render again, so you get what you picked.

  • The "Video Rendering in Progress" notice stays with its Composition, instead of following you to the next one.

  • Clearer Download all results in My Library. "Download failed" when nothing downloads, and "Partial download" says how many files are missing.

  • Source references play and open on top of the result. Create Image shows the source image you used.

  • Plus assorted polish on clip times, previews and loading states.
